I am looking at getting blinds for my house. Have 14 windows including a 9 foot one, 5 foot and double doors in the Sun lounge. Was planning to put roller blinds in the house and venetians in the sun lounge. Was told not to put wooden venetian in as you cannot or should not pull them up due to their weight. So looking at the wooden effect metal for the sun lounge. . Anyone order a made to measure one and install them themselves. Does installing blinds in the window recess invalidate the warrenty on the window ??
Advice, places to buy, rough prices would be appreciated

Assuming you are around Dublin. Hickeys or Frawleys are your best bet. Bought ours at Hickeys in July as they had a sale on, found them to be reasonable and the service was very good.

I'm also in the market for blinds myself and have heard a few mentions of Crumlin Blinds so I might pop into them over the weekend - I'll let you know how I get on.

I got a leaflet in my door for http://www.hillarys.ie and the prices looked decent so I rang asking for an appointment for them to come out to the house but noone has called me back as yet. Seems you can order online from them but I want to see the gear first.

I've also seen posts saying that http://www.clickforblinds.com are very cheap and good but they don't do romans or rollers which is what I want.

Think I'm gonna go into a couple of places this weekend and find exactly what I want, get the best quote from a shop and then compare with online quotes (hopefully theres some UK places that ship to Ireland) and make a call on it then. Will post back with how I get on.

Have had too companies in to measure and give a quote.
In the Galway/Clare area but Hickeys are in Galway so may try them.
First company cost 880 euro for the Sun lounge and 1000 for the rest of the house and that was their Sale price

Second were 760 for the Sun Lounge and 900 for the rest of the house
This was with the Aluwood -- bit more expensive then wood for the Sun lounge and kitchen window and rollers for the rest of the house.

Will try another few and see what the price is
