    Hi all

Im heading to Gran Caneria on the 1st of Oct for a week with my boyfriend, goin to puerto rico, was there before but it was only a family holiday and that was a good few years ago. Both of us are in our 20's and like the pub sceen but wouldnt be in to it all the time. Just wonderin if theres any things that people suggest we do or go to see? is there a park there that has all dolphin shows etc?

Hope some one can help me :)

You're staying in one of the nicer resorts on the island which is perfect for a couple. For mad nights out head to Playa Del Ingles. There are different centres for night life; Irish, English and Scandinavian. Try all three of them out and see what you like. Apparently Del Ingles has become a little rougher recently but use some common sense and you'll be fine. Maspalomas is a really nice family area with a great beach and no scum, well worth a visit also. Have a great time.

I gotta agree with Burago, Puerto Rico is much nicer than Playa Del Ingles (which i thought was a bit of a kip). There's a good assortment of bars/clubs and its good without being totally mental. I was also there in October.
Theres 3 water parks and a good few theme parks on the island, not sure if one of them does dolphin shows but im sure ul find something to amuse yourselves.

steer clear of Playa Del Ingles, drug riddled kip, but the rest of the island has some amazing places.

get into Las Palmas, lovely city with some nice bars.

if you're into sightseeing, the dunes at Maspalomas and caves at Santa Maria de Guía are cool.

for cheesy western town and show check out Sioux City :)

overall, the island isnt that big so do try to get around a fair bit of it. get away from the resorts and you'll be really surprised.
