Hey I have problem where a guy gave me his laptop and told me that it keeps crashing. I have taken a look at it and it seems fine a bit slow but its an old machine. I was just wondering is there any software out there that will give the laptop a good processing workout as I feel the laptop only crashes when there is a large amount of processing being done.

Install a game that requires a minimum spec of whatever the laptop has at its disposal. Or a game that's close enough.

Prime95 just run the torture test any flaky machine will go belly up within minutes if not seconds.

www.ultimatebootcd.com has a good range of tests that can check out all the various components, CPU, memory, etc.

The website has links to all the individual components as well if you don't want to download the whole thing, e.g. CPU Burn-in for the CPU, Memtest for the memory, etc.

folding at home will give any computer a good workout , just change the settings to let the programme have 100% of the processing power
