    Hi lads,

I'm having trouble burning an ISO file to a CD. Bascially i downloaded a linux distro as a ISO and i need to put it on a cd in order to do a boot install.
I have so far wasted about 6 cd's attempting this!

I'm using Nero at the moment. but i'm open to suggestions about using a different application cuz Nero is wrecking me head.

I have opened the iso file with Winrar and extracted the contents to my desktop and used the ISO burning feature within nero to create a cd but its not having it.

The cd wont work when i put it in the cd drive when the pc restarts. I have tried it on 2 different pc's so i know its an issue with the cd setup itself.

    HELP!

Don't extract the Iso... Use "Burn Image" in Nero.

    Try using ISO buster

I've had issues with Nero before when burning an ISO and have moved to this instead-no problems so far!

It could be something wrong you are doing in Nero in which case I am sure someone will advise.

also make sure you have the bios boot sequence set to boot from cd-rom first, press delete or f2 or whatever on startup and there should be an option like boot sequence or boot device priority or something like that depending on what bios you have

I've found Alcohol 120 the best and easiest program for burning or creating iso files. I recommend getting it. No I dont work for them :)

Just follow feylya's advice. Don't try and extract the files.

Pick "Burn Image" under the "Recorder" menu

Yes, what feylya said is what you're looking for.
