I have WMP 9, and when I use the "check for player updates" function, I'm told that I have the latest version of WMP 9. Great. So what about WMP 10???

    Thanks

V10 is only for Windows XP though... If you're running 2000 or earlier then you can only install up to V9

I would think that common sense dictates that Windows Media Player is available from Microsoft.com, because it's, you know, "Microsoft Windows"...

man, I should get more sleep; I sound sooo sarcastic...

It would also be common sense to presume that if the above mentioned microsoft.com tells you you have the latest version then v10 is not for your OS

true true, but in fairness if the guy has to ask then that obviously means he doesn't know whats wrong, and in that case providing a google search to his original question isn't really much of a help!

Ok, well in reply to that^^, i will try and help this chap help himself :D .
OP, there is a thing called google.com. You go to this website, type in exaclty what it is your are looking for into the search box. It will come up with many results, try the first, if it aint that 1, try the second, and so on and so on............................... :D

Its great, and will side step the need to post it up on boards and get sily replys :).

Or you could all just stop being a load of obnoxious gits and just give him a bit of help...Like is that really so hard?

like why not try a 'Proper' media player instead

www.winamp.com - has a very 'HELPFULL' community as well :)

Smeggle, i hear what your saying, but dont u think in cases like this, rather help him help himself in the future?
If we show him how to solve these VERY simple problems now we wont get a " Where do i get nvidia drivers?" thread 3 days down the line.
I love helping people on these forums ( where i can :o ), but if he new what google was he woulda solved this problem himself. Just trying to help him down the line.
    Sorry OP,

There you go, but perhaps in future u could try google out :).

Like tonight yet another 'How do I get rid of this spyware' blah blah and I posted a whole load on it last night and a couple of nights ago but you just need to bite the bullet, smile - go here you are mate and a friendly Google is our friend though I do totally agree some should be just directed to that techtales site or given

Format C: and don't ever touch the 'On Switch' again - saw that once somewhere llol :D

Hahahahaha :D , put that in the humour section, classic.

I suppose at 1 time we all woulda needed to post threads like this, but for me, an explanation of how to solve it myself woulda been much better.
