New to Linux

    Hey all,

I've decided to install Linux on my secondary machine - a Dell Dimension T600.

As I'm completely new to Linux, I'm wondering what release I should install. I've heard mutterings of Mandrake & SuSE. They're apparently user-friendly. I'm looking for something user-friendly but also one that will help me learn the ins & outs of the OS as time goes by.

    Any suggestions are appreciated...

From your sig, I'd suggest you take a look at the Agnula project.

If you've got decent audio kit, itl'll make the most of it.

Good intro to Linux would be Ubuntu.

Thanks NiallB, I'll look into the Agnula Project.

Ubuntu looks pretty user-friendly alright, I'll have a read of the thread at the top of the board to find out more.

Thanks all for your help people.
