Hey, i'm starting a new challange. Taking one buy in at 1/2NL level ($200), and i want to turn it into a large poker bankroll, to play at 5/10NL etc.

I heard that after you make 25 buy ins you have enough to move up a level.

    What do you guys think?
I think i might do a blog etc with this project, tho knowing me it'll last 2 days :)

If you've are or have been a winning player at a given level I'd personally move up with 15 buyins and drop back down again if I went below 10 buyins.

This is presuming you don't need poker to pay the rent etc.

I tried this actually very recently. Went from $1 to $3 to $5, took about $3 up $60 odd. Then cashed some of it out so I'm going to start again. This is what amuses me at the moment. Pretty sad really. The $5 is trickier I find more because of the mixture of good/ok/bad players than bad players in particular. $2/$3 are simply terrible all round and you can outplay them. We might clash though CoD so beware :)

If you ask the pro's then you should have 30+ times the buy-in for your particular level. That's only if poker is your main money maker though. If you have that much in your bankroll then the chance of you going broke are considered quite slim, barring a disasterous bad run.
