Was thinking of going to Rome and I saw that its only €70 return for me & the gf with ryanair to Rome Ciampino.

Just wondering if anyone else has flown to this airport. How far outside the centre of rome is it. Also is Rome an expensive city???

    Thanks

It takes the same length of time to get from Ciampino to the Termini (central train + bus station) as the other airport (the Aerlingus airport, cant remember the name).

Rome isn't expensive. Food and wine is cheap enough. Some of the stalls will try to rip you off, so just be wary. If you're getting a tour, dont just go with the first person who approaches you. Dont get that crappy bus that goes around the city. Total rip off, you can walk almost everywhere and would even be cheaper to get a taxi. Metro is just €1 and the ticket is valid for 90 minutes. Spirits are really cheap so stock up, but buy your multipack cigarettes before the airport. You cant buy them in the shop in the airport.

    Overall, much cheaper than here.
