Anyone know where I can get a (properly) silent / rubbery keyed keyboard with a UK / IE layout?

Currently have one of those Dell "silent" ones at home. Not very silent at all tbh.

Iv seen in maplin they have those rubber 1's. Think you can also fold it up. I did try it out and cant see how it could make any noise :).

Nice one. Endurance man ftw! Might get one on my way home. Which maplins did you see it in? Any idea of cost?

edit: Can't see any (obviously) rubber ones on the maplin site. Would you have a look here and see if you can see it?

Not sure about the cost but it was the dublin branch, around the corner from Peats :).

the labtec ultra flat keyboard is as quiet as a laptop keyboard, and with the notepad size keys, much easier to type on, boosted my WPM by about 20 :D

Can you elaborate on that? What's different about notepad sized keys? I'm already a fast typer (though I use a natural keyboard for most of my typing). Were you fast before?

Sinclair Spectrum has built-in rubber keyboard....just a thought...

I remember it. 48K zx spectrum.

    load "" <enter>

You'd be amazed at how many hits you get for speccy's when you type "rubber keyboard" into google.

They're flatter, that way your fingers don't hit off overly tall keys, i was about 50 wpm, now i'm about 70.

    Heres a pic

I used to love typing on the old SPARC keyboards, pity they never made a similar one for PCs.

    any update on this?

I need to get hold of either a very quiet keyboard or as a last resort, a rubber board to solve a key-pounding-staffmember-driving-everyone-crazy type problem.

I'll try to find someplace that sells those labtec ones.
