Mobile Phone Interference

I recently moved house and I took my mini-dish and sky digi-box from my old house (where there was no problems with it) but since I re-installed it, I now have problems with mobile phone interference, not conversation but those irratating bleeps that you would get on a car radio just before your mobile rings.
Does anyone know what causes this and any possible solutions?

bucket of water, insert phone , remove phone and test .

alternatively use proper shielded cable not some cheap muck

A good starting point would be to check that the coax from the dish is CT100 standard as sponge bob mentions. If that fails then it may be getting in through the audio circuit, how is the digibox conected to the tv?

if its just affecting the sound (not causing picture freezing etc) you could try a better shielded Scart Cable between the digi-box and TV.

if there is no freezing/breakup of picture its not the fault of the cable between dish and receiver.

Thanks guys for the replies, the coax isn't CT100 but it is double shielded, unfortuately I had to put a join in the attic as the cable from the living room to the attic was pre-wired (for sat) but for some unkown reason there wasn't enough length to reach the dish outside!!! I used two RF connectors and a "barrel" to make the join and not F-connectors, would this be contributing to the problem?
I know that it is recommended to have a continuous cable run from dish to receiver (without joins) but I couldn't think of an alternative, barring a re-wire to the attic!

    Root of your problem,I'd say.
Go measure the length you need and re wire direct from the dish to receiver.
Use ct100 this time-available from here

hell yes, change them to F connectors, what kind of outlet plate are you using?

    Lottowinner,
can you clarify one thing - is it affecting the picture or not? , from the above, you seem to say its audio interfernce - and that would not be due to the RF cable between dish and receiver.

Sorry for the delay in responding! The picture is also affected, it doesn't lose the picture completely(freezing/break-up) , but lines appear on the screen.
I'm goin to take Earthman's advice and run a new cable from dish to receiver (without ANY joins) because apart from mobile interference it isn't doing my signal strength any favours either. Thanks for all your help, when I complete the work I'll post again with the results.
    Thanks Again!!!

Yes, wise decision. I've came across a few homes that for some reason had coax plugs used to connect 2 wires, and same problems in each of the houses, with channels dropping out intermittently. So a nice clean length of CT100 with no joints will only be a good thing.

    Lottowinner,
try bringing up say Services menu - does the menu picture get mobile phone interference? - if yes its surely problem with the connection from digibox and TV, not dish to digibox

you don't by any chance have an amplified settop aerial for terrestrial reception? - that and an RF instead of SCART link to TV could very easily have problems from a nearby mobile phone!

    Hi Antenna,
I'm not using an amplified set top aerial, using roof aerial. I'm hoping the builder routes a new cable for me as part of the snag list, so I don't want to change anything at the moment. so unfortuately the feedback from me will be slow (you know builders!)

Thanks for the help and the service menu tip sounds usefull.
