 Can someone tell me honestly and simply....when buying a dell laptop (with no standard insurance cover) is it worth it to shell out E315 for 3yr support and cover etc?Or is the basic 1yr cover substantial?

When you say insurance do you mean a plain warranty, or something more?

I think a 3yr hardware warranty is a good idea with a laptop, but others will say 12 months is loads.

I think the "completecare" warranty or something covers the laptop if you sit on it or spill coffee and stuff, but not if it gets stolen. Obviosuly if you plan on sitting on the laptop, or if there is a good chance or such an occurance the €315 will be money well spent (if thats what it costs).

Personally I would go with a plain 3yr warranty and would avoid sitting or spilling coffee on my laptop, but I guess it depends. Your house insurance should cover a lot of problems other than the hardware malfunctions.

Personally I would get the 3 year warranty, as notebooks can be expensive to repair if something like the systemboard or lcd fail.

Bought a Latitude C600 and after 2 years and 10 months the Hd failed followed a month later by the keyboard assembly. All fixed under warranty. Three years later it is still running perfectly.
