Either your mates are all clairvoyants of some sort, or you're a very gullable person.

I know which one I'd choose.

Pearl Jam playing Slane would be the biggest joke since somebody said Eminem would be playing...

nah i wouldn't just say that, but Slane was always a rock event and with the last few years (madonna and Eminem) they are gonna have to pull something big outta the bag to regain their reputation so Pearl Jam would do well but then again so would AC/DC...

It would be great to see Pearl Jam playing in Ireland, but they're not quite popular enough with the masses to play slane

Both Madonna and Eminem sold out, so there's really no problem with reputation. Pearl Jam and AC/DC wouldn't sell out by themselves. But as part of a solid line up (such as the RHCP/Foos/QOTSA a few years ago) which is what Slane has lost in recent years, they'd be killer.

The Ireland on Sunday had a piece about Pearl Jam playing Slane. And they know their stuff about music (as along as it involves Renards and Lillys)

But it said Pearl Jam are definitly playing somewhere bigger than the Point in the May/June time on their European tour.

couldn't see pearl jam being a big enough draw to headline slane.

thats said at this stage they could probably put tickets for Slane on sale without announcing the acts and they would still sell out.

Has this Pearl Jam at Slane rumour not been going on for about the last 5 years?!

    GIVE IT UP, PEOPLE!

Pearl Jam are certainly not big enough to play Slane. They are barely popular enough to support a headliner at Slane. 11/12 years ago it would have been a different story

I heard Eminem has first refusal

Elvis supported by the Beatles was what I heard.....
Its a whole year before the gig......
Speculation like this shouldnt start till after Christmas at the earliest.

Pearl |Jam played Slane in 1993 , headliner was Neil Young with Booker T and the MG's , Pearl Jam were second on the bill , I thought it was great , but it was one of the lowest attendances at any Slane Gig , approx 30,000 , and for slane thats almost intimate !! Felt like a very small gang gathered in front of the stage !!

PJ at Slane woulod be great. although.. Pearl Jam anywhere close to Ireland would be great.

I believe they were approached to replace M&M or whatever he's called. they were playing dates in Canadia the day before and after so it would have been quite awkward indeed, and knackering for them. I dunno what you's are on about saying there not big enough to headline Slane or even play at it for Fook sake. Jesus, fekin Stereowhatyamecallthem headlined it a few years ago, I mean, who are they even, I can't even think of any of their songs....

and by the way, what's the deal with the radio add for their gig in dublin.. "One Of The Best Live Acts in the WOOOoooorlllllld!!!!!!" F*ck off...

Pearl Jam are supporting the Rolling Stones in the states at the moment. So.....fingers crossed...Stones and Pearl Jam for Slane. :D

Rolling Stones have really strong support acts. In the us you can see them with Pearl Jam/Metallica/Motley Crue/Black Eyed Peas/Joss Stone. at least 2 of them would sell out a stadium here with the others selling the point depot.

I'd rather see the stones and Metallica , lets all be honest here , Pearl Jam were great in the early nineties , theyve pretty much lost it since , they are nowhere near as good as they were !!

stones playing croke park according to current rumours - maybe slane will try to hijack them.
