set both your IP's to local address: for example 192.168.0.1 & 192.168.0.2
and make sure that both PC's are on the same workgroup: for example: mshome

I set up my nephews laptop with the Eircom Netopia. I had to make sure as he was using wireless the the crypto key was the same on his laptop as was on the router. Cant exactly remember how it went but I use a belkin router with a wireless card. I go in to my router setup and then to security. There I can change my security mode and generate a key. On the wireless machine right click on the wireless connection and select connections. This should list available connections. Click on your router if there are more then one. With my belkin it then prompts me for the crypto key that was generated in the router settings. You need to copy this exactly as it is to the machine you are using over the wireless. Also you can just choose to turn off the security feature and if someone nearby you has a wireless machine they will be able to access your network.
    Hope this helps.

I have an internal wireless network but my BB is wired to one machine (the server ... see 5 below). However, my config might help:

    1) Have you set up TCP/IP for both networks: specifically one for the Netopia router and one for your internal hardware? If not, I think each knows about the bb but not about each other.

    2) My bb router uses DHCP for WINS resolution and gets it's IP automatically. I'm not sure what happens you if both your machines ask for an IP from eircom.

    3) My base station has DNS enabled, WINS resolution disabled, and I use a series of IPs as follows: 10.10.0.1, 10.10.0.2, etc. All have a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

    4) Remember to enable file (and printer) sharing on each machine

    5) I run the Sygate Home Network server (free for two machines, modestly priced for 5).

If all else fails, do what I did next. Get Macs :-)
