Isn't i amazing how the turn of a plastic covered card can break your heart. A couple of big wins, you're on the pigs back and then bam, half a dozen horrible beats and it all turns sour.

because of the size of this island and the poker scene here we on boards are spared the obnoxious freerolling insults that passes as commentary on other online sites.

but the reality remains that if you can make a grand a month profit offline in Ireland and a grand online then you are in a very select group of players.

i'm a little (very) drunk so why i am writing this? because it'sjust a game and if you put your heart and soul into it, then i believe it will destroy u.

so whats my point? only that i wish u well but if you u find it really hurting you from dawn to dusk then take a break, find another vice away from the turn of a card, and then come back to it fresh.

couldn't agree more doc. If your not enjoying it why play? Money ain't everything. And lets face it, very few of us would make more money playing poker than working.

man, it was surprisingly well typed considering how wasted i was.
and i won't delete it coz it's not actually that bad.
it was more a response to a few of the horrible beat stories i've read here recently.
but i gotta stay away from the internet (and the cards) when I'm that hammered.

Nice Post Doc, and your dead right. Poker is highly addictive and needs to be controlled or in the end it will take over. Myself and my better half decided to give the Fitz a break for the weekend. I am sitting in work and I feel I missed something at the weekend, when in actual fact I missed f **k all. This game can take over you soul if your not careful. There is life outside of the Fitz like say oh going to the Ireland V France match on Wednesday......Yepee, Yahoo..... or say getting a new Hyundai Coupe....... Oh Yeah Baby. Now thats living.
