That looks good alright. The price says 549 though.

Dollars, not euro. The Sam Ash website has them for $350 but I'm not sure if they export. From Music123 with shipping and tax, it's €490.

*edit* For another €20, you can get the 2x12 100W version from Music Produktiv: http://www.musik-produktiv.de/shop2/shop04.asp?artnr=100020139&sid=!06082002&quelle=volltext

Of course, shipping is about €40 with them. 1x12 50W version is €420 http://www.musik-produktiv.de/shop2/shop04.asp?artnr=100020138&sid=!06082002&quelle=volltext

Still not bad for a decent valve amp.

€420 for a 50W all tube amp is incredible imo. The Classic 50 is €888 for the 2x12 version and it's not as high gain as the Valve King.

I haven't heard anything about the valve king. May well be worth a look in. Looking at a JCM800 2204 at the moment for my next amp. Do the Les Paul justice. ;)

Valve King isn't out for a few more days apparently. Everything I've read so far says it's a savage amp. Peavey have been busy redesigning the Classic series and creating the 6505, Penta and Valve King amps. I don't think I've ever heard bad things about Peavey's tube amps barr someone not liking the tones.

If Waltons get one in I'll give it a spin. Any opinions on the 2204?

Unfortunately, my first hand tube amp experience is very very very small but everything I know about the JCM800 says it is or can be a savage amp. Kill Em All was recorded using a hot rodded JCM800 afaik.

Yeah. I love the tones that can be gotten from them. Slayer, Early Metallica, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Pixies, the list goes on! Methinks the 50W 2204 would be more practical than the 100W 2203 though, what think you?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

That's why I'm looking at 50W 1x12 combos for my next amp. 50W is much more practical imo. Easier to get the tubes to the sweet spot, much easier to move around, 2 less tubes to replace.

Exactly. no point in having the 100W if you can't crank it to the point where it matters. The 2204 is a head, but I could pick up a nice little 2x12 cab for it anyway and it wouldn't be too cumbersome.

Framus 2x12, loaded with Celestions, €300. I think LundiMundi bought one.

May check it out when I'm seriously looking at the amp. Funds are a tad depleted these days.

I know the feeling. I'm thinking about getting a GT-8 and a Valve King or Randall 50W 1x12. That said, I've noticed that GT-8 is a midi controller too... Rack eh? ;)

Holy ****...that looks pretty perfect for me. I may have to consider that mo'fo'. Either that or a Fender DeVille 4x10 or a Vox AD12(/50)VT. Still cant afford an AC30..

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Would ahve thought it'd interest you. All-valve comboes you're looking for, aye?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Oui, all tube, at least 2 channel, different voicings (footswitchable) per channel would be nice too, seperate eq's per channel, 50W preferably, footswitch included, less than €650 shipped.

That's demanding enough man. I don't need a second channel to be honest, I just wouldn't use it. I just need one **** off mean channel. :)
