i'd be very surprised if they didn't hold one in dublin. I'm sure it'll be up on the wizards site once a date is confirmed. Last time they put up a date before arrangements were finalised and it was wrong, meaning a lot of people showed up a day late much to their annoyance and indeed the annoyance of the people who showed up on the right day only to find a very small crowd there.

Once date and venue are confirmed i'll post them here.

The Dublin prerelease is being organised by Third Place and Mr Byrd I believe. Ask in the shop for details.

I got the info myself and the guy whos name I cant remember in 4th Dimension said it was fairly unlikely at this time.

Me disapointed. I had my pile o'rares that I wanted to trade. They were all in anice purple box and everything!!!

Jim brophy will be running the pre-release. Oli will be head judging it, the normal folks who used to run them for the last 3-4 years retired from organisation after nationals (oli will still be judging though)

Hey, I was thinking of going to the pre-release on Saturday. I like playing except I've never actually been to a Magic event before :( so i just wanted to know:

Do i need to bring anything with me apart from the registration fee?
Does the event last all day?
What kind of attendance do you usually get at these events?
Most importantly, is it worth it?

    1) You should bring : Sleeves, Pen and Paper, some sort of counters or dice and your trades binder
    2) The event will last for a good while, until about 7 or 8 o clock. there will also be side events all day
    3) attendance at prereleases is usually very high, maybe around 60 or 70
    4) Absolutely, ive looked forward to this for ages.

It all depends on what kind of a player you are. If you just want to enjoy yourself, have fun looking at the cards and figuring out how to make them work together and whatnot then dont look at the spoiler. if you're hell-bent on doing well and maximising your time for deck construction, then a good knowledge of the cards beforehand will go a long way and give you a slight advantage over the people who havent read the spoilers

I'd just like to thank you all for letting me know about this, with special thanks to sionnach for everything on Saturday. You're a legend.
