    Hi,

My Dell laptop broke down last year, called of up DELL, they said it's the mother board problem and they charge me around €1000 euro to fix it, I find that to expensive, looking for other alternative.

Does anyone knows any Laptop repair shop ?

    Thanks . . .

Make and model of the laptop please? Get a mobo of eBay or somewhere like that and pay some nice lad 50 quid to put it in. Or do it yourself, although make sure you have a good idea of desktops before you go delving into your laptop. It's not hard to replace, just fiddily.

    Thanks for all your replies . . . .

The model is Dell Inspiron, the problem is when your power it on it just died right away . . . and that's it . . . If it will cost me a reasonable amount I think it still worth fixing, it really depends on how much will it cost. . .

    Thanks . . .

I presume you have tried removing all peripherals from the system. Reseatted the memory. When it powers on do the keyb leds give you a code or anything? Do you get a memory beep without memory installed? Try removing the battery pull out the ac and hold the power button down for 5 secs to drain flea power and then reconnect to mains and try again.
