    Hey,

    Iv been using iTunes for a long time now but there are some things I dont like about it;

    Cant remove duplicate tracks with ease.
    Cant remove missing tracks with ease.
    Libary sorting to show Missing tracks not an option.
    Option to remove songs that are not "ticked" from the Libary.

    Are there any iTunes hacks/mods that do this or an iTunes Alternative perhaps? Iv tried Anapod (doesnt have the above features) and also EphMod which doesnt have all of the above (and its duplicate track/missing track feature doesnt work for me)

    Thanks

    try winamp? it's got a media library function which can do all those things, I think. and there's a plug-in for ipod support - I haven't even installed itunes on my laptop because winamp does everything I want it to.

    actually, scratch that comment about not having itunes installed. I just had to install it to rip a cd... winamp was being a bastard about it(no ripping to mp3, no going above x2 unless you buy pro), so in the end I got out itunes. mind you, ripping cds is the only thing I'd use it for now. winamp does everything else better imo.

    But does WinAMP allow me to remove duplicates / missing songs?

    Well, yeah it does, because you tell it to add media to the library (My Music folder or whatever) and it'll add only the songs it finds. If you perform the same operation, say in a week after you have added more songs & deleted some from the library, WinAmp will detect it has songs in its library that no longer exist on the HD and delete them. Phew.

    Winamp does it click the second button on the bottom of the playlist labeled REM (remove) -> mis inside that submenu you'll find what you want. Winamp beats iPube anyday.

    Well if I add 3 different folders of music and some tunes in that folder are already in a playlist on WinAMP - it still ads em, even if that means a duplication!
