    Hello there.

I have about 3k. I know its not much compared to some of the amounts here. But when i graduate i hope to be working (Naturally). I was wondering if there is anything i could do with this money to give me a better start, (increase it). Like where to invest it? Its currently in post office earning minimal interest.

    Thanks :)

If you don't wanna take any risks then leave where it is or put it a deposit account in a bank as it will stand to you if you wanna get loans etc. If you wanna invest it then buy shares of one of the major banks like AIB/BOI/PTSB.

oh.. this place is full of smart fcuking arses.......
oh. but they don't know what they are talking bout......... both those compannys are interlinked in the backround. . . with various ties ..... all across the board. from the heads of both ....

    idiot.

excuse me. Owen Inc. and Charlotte Industries are in a loose trading partnership. If you were to remove Owen Inc. from the partnership due to the fact he has been trearting Char. Ind. badly then you could have Char. Ind. all to yourself.

    idiot. :D

Ebay is always a nice start not realy consided an investment to most but hey if you buy a watch worth 5k for 20 euro with no reserve on a friday nite live auction then sell it over a week in a normal auction and get like 5k for it thats a pretty good investment in my mind :) or give marketmontly.com ago there pretty good stock advisers :p

Any tips on what to buy on ebay?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,644 ✭✭✭✭nesf

Right. If you want to go the ebay route, I can move this to eBay/Online Auctions where people will be able to advise you. Also, it would get more eBay people looking at it than on here.

If you want to discuss stocks/investment accounts I can leave this here.

I don't mind either way, but it's pointless discussing eBay here imho.

No, it was a grand suggestion. I was just offering to move the thread for the OP if he wanted more info on the eBay route.

Road sweeper I'd suggest looking out for live auctions that are on Friday / Saturday night you'd be really surprised at the lack of bidders and the profit you can make from selling them on. I'd recommend going the jewellery route

thank you mfitz, i'll check that out.

How do i access the live auctions exactly?
