A couple of imports arrived today.... Nintendogs and Advanced Wars DS. AWDS is more of the same (so far!), which isn't a bad thing...

But Nintendogs is a whole other beast..... I'm only about a half hour into it, so I haven't done much apart from going for a walk and teaching her to sit, but jesus its fun. :) Looking forward to doing more tricks, doing some competitions and getting my pooch some playmates!

I had my doubts about this game, but its proving to be worth the hype.

I really shouldn't be looking forward to this game but I am. Only Shiggy could come up with a game that uses all the DS's abilities to the fullest and makes a fantastic game out of it.

have had nintendogs for a week now. really enjoying it. haven't gotten around to actually doing much with it - apart from feeding, petting, walking and teaching the odd trick. haven't gone hardcore yet.

I'm skeptical as to how much fun a virtual pet can be. Surly the 'oh wow, that's clever' factor can't last all that long? Maybe I'm missing something?

I'm just not buying the Nintendogs idea at all. Just seems to be like the Sims, but with dogs. :(

I have one. Resisting temptation is the hard part. Meteos next, methinks :)

got it today, enjoying it so far, the voice recognition is pretty good, but training your puppy can be very frustrating (which is all part of the fun, I guess!). I haven't done much other than play, learn basic tricks and walk but it's the kind of game you can dip in and out of for ages. Looking forward to the bark mode too, once more people have the damn thing!

is there any way to re-record your dogs name without resetting the whole thing? Mine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as the other voice commands and it would be handy if I could do it again.

Finally! A game that my wife will enjoy. I've been trying to get her to start gaming for a while and I think Nintendogs will do it. Mines in the post :)

Now she can keep herself busy while I play Guildwars!

Are there multiple game save files in this game? I want to buy it for my self and my nephew.

which is better advance wars or nintendogs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,894 ✭✭✭evad_lhorg

unfortunately there arent multiple game saves.

and you cant compare this in anyway with advance wars. just get both and get castlevania while youre there too ;)

played it in work the other day and i have to say - i'm glad i didn't buy a ds. this has been hyped up as the greatest example of what the ds can achieve. yeah, it uses the touchscreen better then any other game on the ds (from what i can tell), but the game is really boring, and isn't something that would ever make me want to come back and play more.

You just haven't played it enough. The game will take over your life if you give it a chance.

Still in love with this game, it's sheer madness. Was hoping it would do me until AW:DS and Meteos came out, but it's done more than that, got AW but I still go back to nintendogs everyday.
Got my third dog the other day, a Pug named Pugly but I had to donate him because when I called his name one of my other dogs (Bitey) kept responding, my fault I guess, but it was a pretty sad experience, once you donate him it comes up "you and Pugly have parted ways...".
So people's, what's your score so far? mine is 7776 (top handler)
