Wireless card killing connection

I have a Belkin Wireless Network Card in my laptop to pick up my BB connection. When I take it out of hibernation, there is no connectivity in it and I have to reboot to get it back. I was using a USB wireless adapter until a few days ago, and with that it was hit and miss with having a connection when i woke the machine up each time.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I don't think it is the wireless connection, I think it is the fact that it is USB. I have a USB TV tuner card, DVD recorder, bluetooth dongle, keyboard/mouse dongle (you get the picture :D) and it is hit and miss which ones actually work after the laptop comes out of standby/hibernate.

Ok, so I have quite a few devices hanging of my USB connection, but one thing I am going to try is a powered USB hub. The other thing you could try is removing the USB network device before putting the machine into hibernate.

In Device manager under driver properties is there power management options? There should be something along the lines of Allow the computer turn of this device and Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby. Try enabling these and see does it help.

It seems to be hit and miss now as well, which is better than it was when I put up the first message. There was an Auto Reconnect option which was enabled, and a Constantly Awake Mode on AC Power which was disabled, but I've enabled it now. I'll see how I get on.

    Cheers.

Make sure everything is uptodate, drivers/bios etc. That may help too.
