As you may have noticed from the title,I want to purchase a powerbook.

I have qualified from college studying design and so will probably be heavy on the graphics packages such as quark, photoshop, macromedia etc. There will also be a pretty hefty DJ package on it aswell,so I need something that will be strong enough so it wont crash during a set.

The silly silly people who ran my course decided to teach us all these packages on PCs so I'm a mac virgill I'm afraid.

Could someone maybe fill me on what spec I should be looking at?I know a bit about HD space and Ram but not sure about Ghz speed and graphics etc.Oh,it needs to be a laptop aswell.

Also, having a quick scan on the net,it doesnt seem to be that easy to pick one up other than the apple site, anyone know a high street store in Dublin?

Do they offer the "select your own" spec like Dell and other PC companies do?Thats the handy thing about PC

    Cheers

For design, I'd go for the 15" or the 17" PowerBook. The 12" is tiny. Whatever you can afford tbh.
Here if you can afford it... 15" PowerBook with 128MB graphics card, something you'll need for the design work you plan on doing.
