Oh, come on... Where are all the roughlooking-unshaven-whiskeydrinking-depressing guys who live and die for the blues...?

I am a singer/songwriter, imported from the mainland of Europe and when I left my old band behind I was sure to find a new one soon. But a little blues seems hard to find in this country...

To be specific, I'm looking for guitarists, bass player and drummer to start up something funky, with only one rule (or maybe 2).... it needs to be about the blues, otherwise I am not interested. And it needs to be fun.
I like uptempo funky blues, like Eric Sardinas, Blues Traveler, Susan Tedeschi, Barrelhouse, Robben Ford, Koko Taylor, Etta James and soooooooooo many more. At the moment I am not really interested to play my own songs, purely covers would suit me just fine.

I live in Dublin South, this might be good info if you think about replying, rehearsal would either be in the south or city centre.

Hope to hear from somebody soon!!! ;)

    ?????Anybody?????

Hey Brenda ...refreshing to see a post from someone purely into the blues ! have you had any luck with finding musicians yet? I 'm a guitarist myself but not well enough versed in the ole 12 bar to consider playin in a pure blues band but I do have a great appreciation...I know the Mezz bar in templebar has lots of blues bands playing most nights and so does the gaiety theatre club at the weekends..u may make some contacts there with some like minded people....good luck with it.

    Hi Brenda,

I'm very interested. I've been trying to get something together myself and is proving much harder than I thought it would be. I'm a guitarist of cough cough years with a big range of influences from country to electric blues and a bit of rockabilly thrown in. I'm sure I can do funky, I can definitely do roughlooking, unshaven, whiskeydrinking and depressing .. all at the one time. :)

JJ Smyths on Aungier Street is the place for Blues...check it out.
You will find all the musicians you need there on open mic nights.

    Hi Brenda,

I'm a bass player / vocalist, well into the blues and many other types of music. I'm off on holiday tomorrow but would be well up for getting something together with yourself and some of the other guys who've posted.

Influences are too many to mention but funky is no problem for me.

    Cheers,

    Jay.

Wow, I actually got some replies...pretty good.

    :D

Looks like there are two or more people interested already, would be good if we could keep in touch till we get some others (hopefully) and then meet up to jam....

Or even start jamming and wait for others to want to join in. Anybody know any locations to rehearse??

Guys, pm me if you're still interested....

    Cool!
    Brenda
