Sky signal -night problems....

My sky satelite signal is dropping to a very low level in the evening only.
It does look toward some trees but it always has..and they've not really got any bigger this summer. To move the dish to a location with no trees involves a long enough cable run...and thats probably not too good either. After about 7pm, for about the last month, my signal bar starts dropping from the usual 70-80% to 10% and the signal quality bar drops rapid too. The result being lots of channels can't be watched.

Sky being their usual have offered to send an engineer for 105 euro. I'd rather try fix it myself as I know its not rocket science .

Anyone know why the signal should start failing in the evening only?

I live in rural hilly area...dunno if that makes a difference
