Lucky 15 is 4 selections (Eg. 4 horses)

    It is made up of:

    4 x Single bets
    6 x Double bets
    4 x Treble bets
    1 x Fourfold bet

    = 15 bets altogether

You can get a return, albeit a very small one, even if a single one of your horses wins. But the big money is to be made when 2 or 3 of your horses win.

Lucky 31 is similar only you make 5 selections.

good man yourself. i should have done one of those today. probably works out cheaper to do them if a few bets come up

I'm not a huge fan of these to be honest blah...you really need to have some big priced winners or get 4/4 to really benefit from it. The bookies love these bets....then again looking at PP's profits for last year they love any kind of bet. Suppose it's grand to have an interest for the racing but make sure you do it in a place that guarantees the prices and gives treble the odds for one winner.

I can't remember the last time I did a Lucky 15, they suit people who only want to make a very small outlay in the hope of a big win. People who would typically only bet on a Saturday in a betting a shop are most likely to do them. As fade said, the bookies love them, that's why most bookies offer to double the odds if you only have one winner. You generally need 2 winners to break even or get a small profit, and 3 to make any sort of decent money.

If you are to do a Lucky 15 shop around, some bookies will treble the odds if you only have one winner, I know Celtic Bookmakers definitely do this, that way if you only have a 5/1 winner you still get your money back.

I cant think of one reason why to do a multiple bet in a tax free/online environment. As has been stated, Lucky 15s, Yankees, etc are what bookies provide for mug punters. One horse loses out of the four you select and half your bets are down.

The bet the bookies hate is the each way double.

In the bookies i go to they give you treble the odds if you only get 1 winner and double the odds if you have 2 winners under 2/1.I once won 670 euros off a lucky 63,i had 5 winners.

Paddy Power have been doing this since may.

there a few weeks ago I had a Yankee come in. It happens so rarely that I went to the bother of copying the docket and the cheque, and have it stuck on my wall !!

    Dubawi 100/30
    Hard Rock City 4/1
    Keeleghan 5/1
    Seaforde 8/11

For an outlay of €22 I got back €1150 !!! The biggest win I have ever had on one of these patents/yankees/lucky 15s !!

I thought I was getting back around €1300 but there was a rule 4 in one of the races - I only got Seaforde at 8/11 and not evens. Not complaining though !!

The best part about it was that the bookie didnt have enough cash to pay me and had to give me a cheque for the balance - that felt great !!

But has been mentioned before - the bookies love these type of bets. I do it the odd Saturday for an interest when I just have 20 quid to play around with. More often than not you are lucky to get on or two up.
