    hello
have a unix sco server setup up for lp/lpd, printing from unix to windows xp that have line printers attached, each of the windows clients have lpd client program to accept prints and pass on to the local printer,

problem is, every once in a while the print jobs stop printing and start to que up, output from lpstat printer_name is like

    lpt5-61 gold 1374 6:03 PM Thu on lpt5
    lpt5-62 gold 1374 6:18 PM Thu

normally, have to use cancel commands to cancel jobs in the que, and reprint the jobs again,

what commands is there to restart printing the jobs that are in the que?

    many thanks
    paul

I cannot recall if SCO has support for CUPS/BSD style printing, but if it has, you should be able to restart the queue (without cancelling) using the command:
    lpc restart [printer]

    The above may certainly work.

If it doesn't, you might try just the lpc command on it's own, as root.

This runs a wee utility and gives you a 'lpc>' prompt. From there, type 'restart [printername]' or several other command - list, stop, start, status etc.

krinDar's suggestion may work fine - I'm just throwing in my half cents!!
