Already a previous instance already installed in memory

Hey everyone just installing a canon digital camera xp service packed and when i plug it in xp says your hardware might not work properly under device manager the exclmation mark over the camera the error msg says there is a previous instance of this driver already intalled ive tried removing the files under driver details…

Have you tried upgrading the drivers in device manager? click on the upgrade button under the driver properties and browsing to the inf file location on the cdrom?
