this is more of an opinion thread than a queary thread... anyone use capos... i use a schubb... its the best capo.. but recently whenever i put it on, even loosely it affects the tuning... Kysers are ****e, most others are too.. the most reliable ones are actually the cheap €7 john dunlop ones... anyway having said that, does anyone know any alternative capo-makers other than Kyser and Schubb?

I use a Kyser and have no problems with it. What is it about them that you don't like?

I agree. I've had three Kysers in my time (lost one, someone broke the second) and the current one I have I've had for 4 years. I think they're fantastic, particularly for acoustics and high-action guitars.

I'm curious to hear what you don't like about them too!

Oh, and a side note: If you do have a Kyser-style capo, I highly recommend *NOT* keeping it stuck onto the headstock when you're not using it. That knackers the spring on them over time.

The problem is more than likely your guitar rather than the capo. Aside from some cheap ones not holding down evenly and subsequently causing buzzing, the only real difference between one capo and another is how easy it is to put on.

If your frets are a bit high then pressing all the way down to the fingerboard will cause pitch to bend slightly.

    I use one of these

Had it 2 years, store it on headstock all the time and its still clamping strong. I find the kysers a bit slower to change as they are really really tight clamping. Shubb are fantastic but not quick enough to change (in middle of song when changing key). With the dunlop I can change really frets really quick and move up and down key during songs
