Well they are gone, packed off with backpacks, lunches and new uniforms.
They bounced out of bed looking forward to going to school and seeing
their teacher and friends they have not seen over the summer.

How did your morning go ?

I was pleased that they remembered the 5 rules we have for school.
    • Stay in your seat.
    • Be quiet and listen.
    • Teacher is in charge.
    • Only good behaviour *.
    • Have fun and learn new things.

    * This is a long large listing for my two ,
    no bold/rude words,
    no bold/rude fingers
    no calling names,
no saying cruel or unkind things,
    no pushing/shoving/hitting/biting/kicking/spiting/triping/hair pulling,
no scribling on things that are not your paper.

Honest they have not done all of them but they love thinking up all that
they should not do and giggling and out doing each other remembering.
I guess it could be worse :D

it was my daughters first day yesterday.

just read your rules to her, she simply replied, "yeah ok mom"

i think she'll be fine, but what am i going to do with my days off from work?

    clean the house?

nah...i'll just sit and wait patiently for her return.

I can't believe how quiet my house was!

    I know a whole 4 hours.
the house can be gone over quickly each day and then there is time for yourself.

currently for the next week I am planning a clear out of toys and clothes,
this can be hard to do with them watching and complaing you cant
get rid of x or y.
so much easier to to when they are at school and to go for a swim.

Some of the primary school have classes from parenting to first aid and
flower arranging ( not my cup of tea) or coffee mornings.
The home school liasion officer usually runs these.

Enjoy your time out, destress and be a better mammy for it when they get home.

Lol - or Daddy in my case smile.gif

My daughter started her first year in Junior infants & only problem we've had is that she 'demanded' to be taken to school on Saturday. Was upset because the teacher was allowed to have the weekend off !

Still she got a starring role on RTE news, so that keeps her quiet wink.gif

There's actually very little available to cater for the Dads when school starts again....time to find a new hobby methinks

First day back for my eldest, first day there for my second eldest. Wasn't able to be with them on the morning they went in, one of the little things missed not living with them, but they settled back/settled in well :)
