We are looking to buy a chocolate labrador. Prefereably a thorough bread.

Any good places to buy, or is just a case of looking in the paper and buying through that?

    cheers

have a read of the "buy and sell" thread ...that should answer most of your questions.

choc (colour) labs are mega "in" at the moment ...be prepared for a long waiting list and a high price.

you are aware, that labs and their mixes are the majority of dogs sitting in pounds and rescues, looking desperately for new homes?

they're probably not chocolate coloured ...but lovable nonetheless.

Be very careful when buying dogs from the buy and sell. make sure that the number you are ringing isnt the same no for many other breeds and say you want to see both parents and they're papers when buying the dog. The majority of legit breeders will not mind and be happy that you cared enough to ask! Have fun with your puppy!! :)

So where do reputable breaders usually advertise then?

    they usually don't (have to)

you might find one through the kennel club
