SMATV Systems/Interactive TV Systems

I would like to setup a SMATV system similar to a mini cable network in our house. It is a project that I am hoping I can then setup in my uncles guest house in the future. It would be nice if I could setup a distribution system so that with a couple of FTA receivers I could get BBC1-4, RTE1/2, C4, UTV, C6 (when it launches). And a few other nice channels. And pipe them around the house so that all the TVs receive all those channels, and everyone can watch what they want.

While this can be done with distributers and VHF/UHF modulators, I want to go a step further. I want to have a DVR for each TV. It would be based on a small computer and an analogue tuner to receive the channels, but use a WiFi or ethernet connection to receive the EPG data from a central server. That way to add new channels, I would just need to get another decoder/antenna, feed it into the distribution system, then update the EPG/Channel list on the server and send the updates to the DVR's. The bonus of this system is that you can browse the internet through your TV during the ads.

Does anyone have any experience in these types of systems?
If this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it.

So is ITV and C4 at the moment. I can just get an IRD for it, and link it in. I am sure that C6 will be free in the republic on analogue or something. When (2020) RTE starts broadcasting in digital, then we will have it on "freeview".
