so close and yet so far, finished 2nd when there was only one package available :(

when we got down to 3 handed the 2nd chip leader handed the chip leader his stack on a plate.

First calling a 4K raise with KJo on a Q 8 5 flop, and then calling an all-in raise on the turn with the same cards to go up against A Q. That left the other guy with 22K to my 6K and it was always going to be an uphill battle. Why don't I get players donating chips to me when I get to that stage???

After a couple of hands of stealing blinds I get TT, he raises to 3K, I felt it was a teaser bet but how do you fold TT heads-up when you need to accumulate chips fast? Would you have folded here?

Anyway I pushed for the rest and he called in a shot with AA, hit his set on the turn and that was that. Absolutely gutted to get so close and go out, no bad beats just a bad taste in my mouth afterwards.

edit: In retrospect I probably could and SHOULD have folded the TT, I had 6K left, blind levels were 15 minutes and about to go up to 150/300 so I had over 20bb's left. I felt he had a big hand and was tempting me in as he hadn't raised much the whole game unless he was strong.

I put him on AK-AJs and from that point of view I was in a race for my entire chip stack on a 50/50. Had I won, I'd of had 12K to his 16K and would have still had to do a lot to beat him.

Had I folded I would have had plenty of time to get myself in a better position. I'm not sure if I'm an idiot or a victim of bad timing, but I'm leaning towards the former , although had I folded he might have taken it as an indication that he could bully me off pots. bah I don't know :(

    GUTTED

unlucky man. if he bet 3k and blinds about to go up to 150/300 then was this not a big overbet with his aces?id be much more worried by a min raise or a 2bb raise, i personally wouldnt have folded 10 10 simply because he bet so much. id have read him for an underpair as it looks like he dosent wanna see a flop

Yep only 14 players, that was the attraction for me. I can't be bothered playing MTT's anymore (but of course I'll probably end up playing them anyway). Far too much luck involved, I'm sick of playing my way though 100 or 200 players and the minefield that involves to get busted out just before or just inside the money by a bad beat or outdraw.

14 players at $100 each to win a prize worth $4k was well worth a shot, it was just like playing an STT really, and I'm not too bad at those. Less luck involved and that suits me just fine.

    Unlucky Iago,

I managed to bubble the same tournament last week - It is a sickening feeling.

Heads up is very tricky in these all or nothing tournaments. There just seems to be that bit more pressure when there is such a difference in prize money between first and second. Can't see anything wrong with your 10 10 play - u needed to double through - just unlucky to run into the aces.

You see that's the thing. I was happy enough with my decision to push with TT heads-up. I'd of been happier if he hadn't of raised in front of me, and happier again if he'd been holding muck.

but what bothered me about the whole thing was that if he made a move like that with AA (I believe) it showed a serious lack of knowledge of short handed play which meant that I had a signifcant advantage over him and a chance to whittle away and win the game. Of course he knocked me out so maybe my perceived advantage wasn't all it was cracked up to be :D

I was signed up for todays tourney but it was cancelled due to only 7 players signing up. Anyone heard of this happening before?

they have a stipulation that it will only go ahead when the tournament reaches 9 players. It's on all the MTT's if you check the status before 9 are registered.

Happened to me before as well
