When does TCD contact freshers?

Anyone on the inside know when the college will write to its students and give them all the official info etc.....
I got a little postcard reminding me of the accomadation in Trinity Hall. That was it so far though.

Any news???

You'll get a few packs during aug telling you about the student societies and when to register and pay your registration fee etc.

I think the packs are being packed this week - our very own snorlax is working on them, so they'll probably be arriving at people's doorsteps next week some time.

yup our deadline for finishing them is friday (chaotic day in work tomorow), we are assigning you tutors at the moment, that takes a while because we have to do all 3,000 of them by hand and some of the courses have had their faculties switched.

they should be with you Monday/ tuesday or wednesday if theyr posted friday evening.

then we start packing 2nd round offers next monday

my god, i dont want to sound like a prick, but whats the bloody worry for!!!!!!

i mean jesus, if you got offered your choice then sit back and relax!!!! trinity will be in touch with plenty of time for you to get organised etc.

if you are really worried, get in touch with the college, they wont bite!!!!! but i bloody might!

remeber folks, its grown up time, you will find that in college its all up to YOU!

paid reg fees? thats about it really untill registration day.

once again, DONT WORRY!!!

Even if you do miss or forget something, there arent likely to do anything! (JUST DONT MISS REGISTRATION OR THEY WILL CHARGE YOU MORE!)

relax my little pretties, all you have to do is register and pay the fees, then drink! drink! DRINK!

apparently she actually gave out sweets in her tutorials with us this year..its like some form of bribery: 'come learn some chemistry and you get a free sweet wow!!'....that was never gonna work on me, my hate of chem is so much stronger than than the off-chance of getting some nicely tasting confectionery

yep, she did that for us aswell. i went to all her tutorials, not for the free sweets, or even for the chemistry. i went purley so i could fantasize about grabbing her by both ears and ramming my forehead into hers....

bit harsh i know, but i find thats its the little things in life that make it fun....

I always just stayed in bed rather than goto lectures like that...why put yerself thru the hassle? ye miss out on daytime tv by going in...

well to honest, i wouldnt expect to much, every year the ents officer promises this and that. some are better than other, some are ****, just remeber its up to you to find the craic! make as much as you can, oh and get the ride!

I'm an American student going into first year. Apparently fresher packs are mailed on the 26th of September, and I won't be in America at that point to receive it at my home address. I'll be at my uncle's house in Galway. Does anyone know what specific department deals with this so I could give them a shout ? I'm going to ask them to be very nice and send it to NY earlier than usual or send it to Galway. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know. Since it doesn't sound like anyone else does either, the best place to start is probably to phone up admissions and ask. If phoning doesn't work, their e-mail address is admissns@tcd.ie.

I'm not sure what exactly freshers packs exist, but ring general enquiries.
They know lots of things, just be poilte. They are very abrupt and old.
