    sup,
You just asked some of the most common questions.
You should use the search function to have a browse through older poker forum threads, search for "beginner online", "which poker site" etc etc.
Just basically read through the poker forum more.

Practice more self-control or drink less if you think you might gamble away you money after a night in the boozer.

Most, if not all the people on here do play for money on-line.

There are so many poker sites available at the moment, its hard to recommend one over the others, but the most popular on here seems to be Paddy Power Poker, Poker Stars or Party Poker. My personal favourite is UltimateBet.com, but 888.com/Pacific Poker is a fine site too, it's great for new players because the standard of play on it is normally worse than on other sites, that could be because you're only allowed to play one table at a time (no multi-tabling) and the software is pretty rubbish, so many of the better on-line players don't like it. I myslef tried it and left very shortly afterwards.

I'd say most people have lost money when they've come home from a night out, I know I have, one of my worst problems used to be just that. But generally you can only lose what you already have in your account (unless you go absolutely mental and deposit a huge amount and then go on to lose it all). But generally all you'll do is dent your Bankroll.

I'd suggest you try it out, if even just for a small amount to begin with, it will take you a while to adjust from the play money type of games (not at all like normal games) just start at some of the micro limit cash games or small buy in Single Table Tournaments (STT's) I think Paddy Power Poker (PPP) have as little as $1 STT's.

Good Luck and hope you win some money.
