    Hello all,

I'm lookin to go to Amsterdam for a weekend next March to see my favourite band in concert, they're performing at Jam In The Dam. Just wondering if anyone has any pointers on ultimate budget of Doom accomodation and travel to and from.
    cheers

Amsterdam is not an expensive city to visit. It's so easy to get to, and can work out quite cheap. i've been twice, both times we travelled different routes. First time we went we flew ryanair to brussels, then got on a 3hour train to asmterdam. (journey was alot shorter coming back :p )
The second time round we flew to Eindhoven with Ryanair then got a 40 minute bus to Amsterdam. Id highly recommend you take this option. We got flights on ryanair for hardly anything, (a 4.99€ special offer), and when we arrived at the airport we got onto a large bus which cost just €20 return. in total flights and the bus to get us to amsterdam and home again cost roughly €80.
If you want to book acommodation before you go you should log onto www.wotif.ie. they have some great last minute special offers but you can only book acommodation on the site up to two weeks before you go. We booked acommodation before we went both times but ive heard its quite easy to get acommodation once you get there. theres no shortage of places to stay, and there is an ibis hotel right beside the train station.

    enjoy

Fly Aerlingus dublin to amsterdam. flights cost about 80euro and no extra train journeies!!

aer lingus is cool that way, it goes to shipol and from there u can get a underground to grand central station.

from there, walk out into Damrak street and there are tonnes of guest houses costing from 30€ per night! you have to visit the sex museum on route, you will walk past it on way.. very funny :D
