I am looking to get a book or three for a bit more education.
Does anyone have any books that they are finished with that i can buy from them?
I already own Sklansky TToP and have read C4's late night book.
I would be interested in getting a copy of Caro's tells and super system 1 or 2 and maybe a few more that you might recommend.

Normally i play $5,$10 or $20 STT or MTT's and .25/.50 cash games.
Post or PM me with details and i will pay by paypal (or cash) for all books.

I also have a copy of Big Deal (anthony holden) that i am willing to swap or sell.

P.s. Muso, sorry if this should be in FS General - i thought it might be get better exposure here.

I'm building up a bit of a library of poker books myself lately, so I'm not after selling them yet.
I'd recommend both Volume's of Harrington on Hold'em, good for beginner/intermediate level of MTT's and Stt's.
Tournament Poker For Advanced Players (TPFAP) by Sklanksy is pretty good too. Caro's Tells isn't that great, out of date at this stage, there plenty better stuff on tells around the web if you spend half an hour on google.

If you play Omaha then Reubens "How good is your PL Omaha" is very good, he plays a different style and in different games to the typical PL Omaha cash games on the net but he definitely makes you think about your Omaha game more and the processes involved in each hand.

    Will post more later..

I have Caros book. I also have Bad Beats and Lucky Draws by Hellmuth (smashing player - even if he does say so) and Shut up and Deal by Jessie May. Caros is alright and the other two are basically good reads but not much good for education. If you want to borrow them, no problem.

good thread. basically in the same boat as Rusty Spoon - i intended to get 3 books this weekend, and i wasn't sure what 3 but now i'm thinking
    - Super System 2
    - Harington on Holdem
    - Sklansky's Tournamnet Poker for Advanced Players

    thanks guys.

are these available in Hoggis Figgis Doc Farrell? how much?

    - Sklansky's Tournamnet Poker for Advanced Players
I didn't find this that good. If you know and understand the gap concept then it's a waste of money imo.

    - Harington on Holdem
There's 2 books to this, 1st is about early tournament play, 2nd is about the 'endgame', final tables and all that malarky.

    WTF is FS General?

    thanks

i'm aware of the gap concept but i kinda like Paul Phillips attitude to it - "You and your gap concept can blow me"

maybe i should read a bit about it first before "i play any favourite at any time"

(must look up that article of his)

Harrington on Holdem: These are definately the best books out there at the moment if you're a regular tournament player. Ditto for STTs, but I'm not sure if the end game book is as applicable, although I haven't read it properly.

Sklansky's Tournament Poker for Advanced Players: If you're a tournament player, then you should also read this. It's not quite as advanced as the name suggests, but I think the title is just to tie it in with Sklansky's other Advanced books.

Super System: I haven't read Ver 2, but going by Ver 1, I dont think it should be high up on your list of reading material. Maybe someone who's read Ver 2 can contradict this.

I've read the recent SS2 and it's not great at all. The Omaha section is decent for beginners but the NL Hold'em section is all about aggression to the point of silliness.

Dont read SS2 if you are new to poker,It will do more damage than good.It does not live up to the hype...its a good read but he is super aggressive which is grand if you have a huge bankroll.Basically if he has an out he will make you pay to continue in the hand.

I am reading Harington on Holdem now and I am very impressed so far.

No problem. I can either drop it into the fitz or send it on or something. PM me your details and i'll get it to you. I see you're from Laois, some of the lads here at work live in Laois, so I can drop it in some pub for you.
