Anyone seen this or signed up to this on www.gamesgrid.com
it gives an first time deposit bonus of 1000% up to a $500 deposit, so if u deposit 500 you can get 5000 free after earning a certain number of player points. there is also an excellent refer-a-friend scheme. I was just wondering if anyone knows of anybody whos used this site,is it reputable etc?

Wow that's some bonus. How did you hear about this?
Hollywood poker are currently offering a 500% bonus up to a max of a $1,000 bonus. I opened an account with them last week to try and avail of the offer but have to say that it takes an eternity to clear and is only really feasible for professional players. You have two months to try and clear it but it does clear in $50 increments for every 750 FPP points gained therefore normal players do have the possibility to clear a hundred or two. Have to say that it's a pretty tough site to multitable on and so far I have found the site pretty tight with not alot of action.
Anyway I would also be interested to hear if anyone is intending to avail of this 1000% bonus and their thoughts of the site.

    Here are Details

    1. GamesGrid wants to see you earn your bonus! Every day, for every five FPPoints you earn, we give you $1 cash—making it among the fastest earned bonuses on the 'net. And it's not an all-or-nothing bonus—we pay you $1 (or more) at a time, directly to your account, until you've earned your entire bonus, or your unearned dollars reach their expiration date. We convert your FPPoints every day at 01:00 GamesGrid time (same as US Eastern).

    2. Any unearned portion of the bonus is forfeit 365 days after initial deposit. (And honestly, you can't really have had better things to do for a whole year, right?)

    3. Earn Frequent Player Points (FPPs) with each raked hand, according to the following schedule:

    rake points earned
    $0.00 - $0.49 : 0.00
    $0.50 - $0.99 : 0.25
    $1.00 - $1.99 : 0.50
    $2.00 - $2.99 : 0.75
    $3.00 - : 1.00

If you are dealt cards in a hand and the hand is raked, you receive FPPs. You do not have to put money in the pot yourself. Yet another reason to rejoice when you see action on your table while waiting for your next hand.

Tournaments work, too. You get two Frequent Player Points for every dollar you pay in tourney registration fees. For example, a $10+1 tournament would give you two FPPoints.

    4. Only Frequent Player Points earned after your initial deposit will be used to convert your bonus into real money. FPPs earned before your first deposit may be used to enter some tournaments and for other promotions.

What's the rake in a typical .25/.50 NL cash game that a typical boards person might be playing?
By this Gamesgrid thing would I be right in saying that if a hand you're involved in doesn't earn >$0.49 you get no FPP points.
And wouldn't that mean you need to be playing a higher limits to make a shot at this bonus worthwhile?

I did a brief search on the 2+2 forums for gamesgrid.
Apparently the 1000% bonus is legitimate, it takes ages to clear even if you play pro.

There are not alot of regular players on the site, way less than PPP/VC, there's rarely more than 2 cash games going at a particular level.
They do have a dealers choice game, dunno if any other sites have this.

Most importantly the majority of players playing there are those taking full advantage of the 1000% bonus, these are players who regularly take advantage of different bonuses and rakeback around the net, i.e. they are good players who take poker seriously. There is a serious lack of fish at these tables.
The games are generally very tight and aggressive, at a full table of 9/10 you won't get more than 3 people to a flop, so there's rarely any multiway flop action.

So while the bonus is very good, while you are earning it you may not be making as much money as you would normally make on PPP/VC or Party or wherever.
