Friend left their laptop down to me yesterday (advent).

The fan is making a hell of a lot of noise, anyone have any ideas how i can reduce this ? He wants to be able to use it in the library in college but feels its too loud and will disturb other people.

I think its this one if that helps

    What type is it?
Is this a new problem or one that has been with the lappie since it was new or what? Fan replacment if necessary? Could be just a blocked fan or something!

Is the fan making a funny noise or is it just running at full speed.
a quick google for reviews will let ya know if its just a noisey laptop.

the main problem with advents is that they are cheaply made and therfore cheaply priced, at the cost of build quality.

what processor is the laptop running on, have you tried adjusting power settings to maybe reduce the need for the fan to run at full speed
