    Here's the deal...

I don't get to see Dublin very often...

    :(

There has been so much happening in Dublin as far as construction and renewal. I really want to see pictures of Dublin in the last few years particularly of O'Connell Street and other major streets.

So the challenge is to post YOUR favourite pictures of Dublin in all its glory (or ugliness) and post a link. Use a free hosting service like www.tinypic.com or www.photobucket.com.

Get your digital camera out and take some pictures capturing Dublin in 2005!

Thanks dStar. I go for the more stunning things in the city. You can see McDaids behind the Phil Lynott monument though.

Just saw that Flukey (was taking a while to d/load).

Good shot of the Bruxelles clock too!

Brings back memories of all the good nights I had in Bruxelles when I was teenager in the 80's and early 90's...

Any shots of 'The Stags Head' clock / facade?

Sorry, just what is on the site. I add a few new ones every now and then, so maybe you'll see a few more pubs in the future, at least in the background.

Thanks for those links Fallen Angel.

I really liked the one with pictures of the development on Georges Quay. I hadn't seen that one before.

I recall reading about some proposed 'skyscraper' development across the river in the Financial Services area. Anyone know if that is going ahead?

    Award winning photos.

The one of the GPO is awesome. I have never seen Dublin captured like that before.

    Very 21st century...

Waldo, I've just spent the last half hour looking through your photos. They are absolutely amazing, I've never seen photography like that before. The image of Dublin along the liffey where the water looks like ice, and the angry gorrilla! Brilliant! What camera do you use? Are you a professional photographer?

thanks for the comments Funkstard and Dave. No I'm not a professional photographer (Electronic Engineer). I have given professional photography a lot of thought though. Maybe some day if I get sick of IT. I do have a big passion for photography (probably more than IT).

Some of those photos were taken with an SLR, most with a simple S60 (great little compact digital). I must upgrade to a digital slr soon.

Very good photos, and well presented. A different style to my own, with a lot of "Life Study" types of photos. The last few in particular capture the people well and could be from a street in Asia somewhere. So you've captured more than just a Dublin theme. Mine focus more on the sights. As a GAA fan, the Croke Park ones were interesting. I have a few myself, which I suppose I should add to my site. Of those, this is one of my favourites:

I've added that photo to the main site, and a couple of other Dublin sports photos too. I've also added a link to my site of pictures from Croke Park, some of which go back to the 1980s, and therefore demonstrate how it has changed since then.
