    Well, he's had his ups and his downs....

    He was proclaimed as the best footballer in the world by none other than Pele - and that certainly takes something!
    Ok, he's had his problems with alcohol, but then I guess he was one of the first ultimate "celebrity" footballers and he learned the game the hard way.
    But, most importantly, he put Irish football on the world map before anybody else! God knows what football in this country would be like with out him...
