I'm 17 years old and I will soon be searching for a weekend job for college.I did out my CV today but its virtually empty . The only work experience I have has been babysitting for three years.I doubt any employer would give it a second look, except maybe to laugh hysterically! :o I'd appreciate any advice on improving it.Even with the babysitting down it only takes up about half a page.

Put your babysitting down. It shows responsibility and the desire to work and take charge. Ask one of your regulars if they'll go as a reference for you...

    Hiya sabriel,

I remember doing my cv up for the first time too, it looked so short! i was nearly embarassed sending it off!

Make sure u do put down the babysitting, it does show responsibility and a thats important trait to have. Ciaranfo had a good idea to ask one of your regulars if you can put their name down as a reference.

Put down hobbies and interests and maybe have a small paragraph introducing yourself and what you will be studying at college.

Oh, and I would make the font a little bigger than usual on the cv and centre a few things like your personal details.

Make sure it looks smart, tidy and easy to read.

    Best of luck!

Thanks.I wasn't sure weather to bother putting down an introduction or hobbies , they should make it look slightly less empty. :)
