Matted Kitty

I just discovered yesterday that my pet cat has an infected mouth, and hasn't been able to clean herself properly, which has resulted in a bit of matted fur on her side. I'm bringing her to the vets on Monday, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to rid of the matted lumps? They don't seem to bother her, should I try cut them out?

Just trim them out with a scissors if they're small, if the matts are big your vet will be able to quickly shave them on monday.

They're only small, so I'll just give them a little cut, thanks :)
