Do you bother going out on a Friday night anymore?

It would seem that pubs and clubs are very quiet on Friday nights these days. Does the majority stay in with a DVD, pizza and a few bottles on a Friday and save the socialising till Saturday?

Maybe thats the case in Dublin - Dundalk is €2 euro a drink in all night clubs so its the most popular night out. I work Saturdays so its a bitch, let me tell you.

I probably go out more Saturdays that Fridays, but there are plenty of Fridays too. I'll be in tonight and out tomorrow night and out both Friday and Saturday of next week.

Fair point but isn't it "The Irish Way" personally i couldn't go out socialising to a bar without drinking, tried it once and it was a bit of a disaster being sober and listening to everyone else talking sh**e :D

€2 in ALL nightclubs? and on a Friday? are you sure about that?

Cos that sounds a little farfetched, tbh.

No its true.... One place started it and the rest lost business, so they all started doing it... legend...

    ---

tbh i prefer going out on a friday night and taking it easy on a saturday night. Seems to be a 'nicer' crowd out on a Friday than on a saturday I think in Dublin..

Dont go out atall anymore TBH. only for special occasions.

I live in the country, only way to get too and from the pub is drive, or wait for the one hackney that serves north Tipp.
And seein as how I cant afford to lose my licence, (even though where I live Id have to drive in the cop shop door pissed as a fart to get caught there is still a chance) I cant have a fag with my pint, all of a sudden a night out has become hassle and no fun!

Enjoy it while it lasts, I need 2 days to recover from hangovers after a big night out, use to be I'd wake up at 7am, sleep on the bus on the way into work and count down the hours till work finished and I could go back to the pub.

i dont think I've ever gone out on a Friday night. Prob cos I work every Saturday and cos the invasion of the hens begins here on a friday, so most of the locals with sanity remain indoors

Not been out in five years.

I've noticed myself that it's gotten a lot quieter around town in the last year or so.

Rarely go in myself anymore anyway though. I think it's partly because it's so expensive now but also because as we've all gotten older, people have settled down and live all over the city or beyond so it's harder to get people together these days.

Usually what we do now is get together for a weekend in someone's house, bring drink, have a BBQ and watch the footie/telly.

Not like the "good ole days" at all, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. :)

No, Friday night just doesn't appeal to me

    Saturday is 'the night'

I am staying home these days....it's expensive (not that I don't have the money, because I do) but it seems that the only people that are there are just there to get drunk....nobody really wants to talk or meet new people....if I meet someone in a pub, I'm extra suspicious....I think I need a cure for my growing cynicism....it's very unattractive on me! LOL  I only go out to pubs if I am with good friends...
