Forgot to mention this before...during my latest buying frenzy I spotted this on ebay. Have to say, thought I was going to get a bargain. 1976 I believe. No collector would want it surely I thought. And it's a CBS 3-bolter so should be at the bottom of the classic strats from a player point of view...any guesses at the selling price?

    In the current market... $1300

I can't believe somebody somebody stepped back after doing that to that guitar and thought "Yeah!"

    $1300?! Jebus...maybe it wasn't so much after all :o

Still it would be $1300 for a mint one right? This one went for $750 I think...suppose you could call it mint too...

No way 1,300 at all at all. I think I would have said 850 or so, and that would be with a serious clean up and set up. Although, in fairness it s hard to know as vintage prices are just going crazy. Buy that strat, clean it up and sel it in five years for a few hundred extra. Then go out and buy a much nicer guitar. Simple! :D

I like the colour, my dream bass would be a MM Stingray in Transluscent Teal, but that scratch plate is fugly.

IMHO the only thing stupider than spending stupid money on a crappy old guitar would be spending it on a "reliced" new one.

Ahh relic'ing, for those with too much much who don't like playing instruments but want to make out like they do :D
