celeron vs pentium...help me

    i need to gt a laptop for my commerce course starting quite soon. the computer that i am choosing is the latitude d510c by dell. it comes with a intel celeron m 360 1.4ghz procesor, however if i paid 130 extra i could get a pentium m processor 730 1.6ghz.

    i dont really hav that much cash lyin about so i dont know if it would be necassary for my needs, i wont be playing many heavy games in terms of graphics.

    Celeron-M's are quite good chips (unlike the celerons of old). The only major difference is the performance is slightly under an equivilantly clocked pentium-m (only slightly) and they don't have the advanced power control. So it'll eat battery faster.

    Performance wise, considar them as good as Pentium-M's (oh so nearly).

    Suggestion: Go with the celeron m for now - save and upgrade to a pentium m chip next year - they will be cheaper and you will get some cash for your celeron chip.
