Hey. Dell gave me a copy of Norton Utilites with my PC when I got it, but never gave me a CD. The programs not listed in Add/Remove and there is no uninstaller in its base folder.

Is there anyway on removing it with ease (hopefully without having to download the whole program again to remove it!)? Searched Google but no results regarding Norton Utilitles.

I could remove all traces via registry but its a big job, then I gotta search for all the rest of its files on the PC etc etc.

    Any suggestions? :D

Here is a Norton uninstall tool to do the job, direct from Norton

AVG Anti Virus? Dont really trust it to be honest, found Panda a nice choice (tho its a tad bit to serious!).

Thanks for your suggestions but the link above is for "Removing Norton AntiVirus 2003 or earlier". Im Norton Utilities!

Symclean isnt for Norton Utilites and apparently, it breaks Windows Update.

Google has results for Norton Anti Virus and NOT Utilites. If you find one, then give me a link and ill look into it :)

    Thanks!

Sully, I was going to suggest that but chickened out when I remembered from personal experience, that anyone with a 4 to 5 year old Dell has about as much street cred as a guy with a piece of crud hanging out of his back pocket ..... so why bother doing anything with it? ..... :p

Mind you, I confess I have an old (6yrs old) P3 Dell and God love it, it's sitting beside me ready to be powered up (should it ever be needed) ..... it's only crimes in all that time was a hard disc that went to heaven (replaced f.o.c. by Dell at 2 years old) and a modem card that blew a hole in a non-load-bearing house wall, due to the most amazing Lightening storm at year 5 (and I did have surge protection but to no avail) .... :)

How to manually uninstall Norton Utilities 2002 for Windows NT/2000/XP

    looks kinda fun :)

I had 2 do it years ago even their uninstaller misses stuff, i ended up having to hack the registry to bits after it was gone ...... never again.

    LOL.

Anywho, thanks Mistmyr - worked perfect :D Had to go into Safe Mode for some.

Was using normal Reg Edit for most of it, but then I realised RegSeeker would be better so that made the removal go faster :P

    Cheers m8
