Finding a Job.

As you may have guessed, I’m in the process of trying to find a job atm, but I’m having more trouble than anticipated. I need some advice, and maybe a bit of guidance too if anybody can help.

I'm 22, I have no third level qualification (although I am starting a part-time course), and I have 3 years work experience. (1 in market research/sales and 2 in Administration). But now I’m looking for a job with good career prospects, but with a pretty bare CV I’m finding it difficult to even get interviews.

    So I have 2 questions
1/ Is there any particular sector that has good career potential for someone without a degree, I've looked at Recruitment/Consultants jobs, seem to have good potential earnings and don't require qualification, but they also seem very difficult to get into, does anybody know of any other areas that don't require a qualification that have good potential earnings?

2/ Also, What is the best way of conducting a job search from your experience? Because I seem to find Agencies are time wasters, and I have emailed several companies also in the recruitment sector trying to get an interview, but I'm lucky if I get a response.

I'm trying to set up a career, but what avenues are left to explore? Also, are my salary expectations realistic for someone in my position? (25K basic + commission if applies)

Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks

what do you enjoy doing / what have you always wanted to do?

I'm sure at this stage any job will do but they're important questions as my expreience is that people who do what they love, generally are a very big success.

I'm suprised it's bare tbh. A year in sales should give you plenty to talk about and a 2 years in admin also.

Sales, but it doesn't suit everyone. And I'm guessing here that it didn't suit you.

There is plenty work out there for people without qualifications but you are expected to have experience instead of said qualifications.

www.recruitireland.ie is decent. Check out this thread. It has loads of online recruitment sites on it. Might prove useful to you.

    Try Bank of Ireland.

My gf applied for a job on the weekend, and she has an interview tomorrow.
Banks are always employing new people.

CV Ireland has established CV distribution links with the top ten recruitment agencies in Leinster, Connaught, Munster and Ulster. Perhaps those groups would work better for you?
