I have has been starting to have pc problems.. i.e slowest. (CPU running at 100%)

the computer has started to get sluggish after installing VB6 (which took about 10 minutes - normally 5 or less any other programs) on the computer (on friday). Sluggish (CPU running at 100%) as in the it would stop and go and when a number of programs when runnng.

i uninstall it (VB) and was having the same problems. Then i did a scan for virus's etc nothing found.. but same problem sluggish. Start up was getting worst... the windows bar would rotate 20+ times compared to 5/6.

So i, (on Monday) formatted the harddrive and did a clean reinstall. It worked grand until - today.

I installed VB6 again. same problems... as above.

i need to work on a vb project (hence reinstalling it)

How/Why could VB be fecking up the computer? any ideas?

the computer is : Athlon 2000 with 768 ram on XP Pro.

VB6 uses the JVM, on windows xp , microsoft removed JVM due to a court case with SUN over visual Java, have you got a standard java runtime environment from sun installed. also try installing the latest service pack for VB6
