Preseli transmitter work

    And to all our viewers using the Preseli transmitter - just to let you know its OFF AIR.

    Its affecting BBC1, 2, itv1 wales and S4C. Five is not affected. I just drove past the mast, but I didn't see anyone climbing to the top... a couple of lights half way up the mast need replacing - I thought that might be the reason for the interruption.

    The BBC Multiplex 1 and ITV multiplex have also been off the air.

    Just thought you'd like to know!

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/transmitters/today.shtml is a good place for such info. Though they spell it "Presely" for some reason.

    Thats the anglicised version.. the new Arquiva (NTL) sign has just gone up and they call it Preseli now.

    It must be on reduced power too... cos even living 6km away from it the signal seems to have depreciated slightly.

    Wonder what they're doing... works continue until 23rd September.
