We stayed here. It's a BnB, but beside the railway station, near the colluseum its really well located. Also very clean, en suite bathrooms, and reasonable.

The only caveat is that breakfast is by means of vouchers for a cafe across the street.

Their rates are on the site, starting at 60.00 for a double.

We were there 2003. We flew Ryanair to Fiumincino, about 40 mins from Rome centre and bussed from there. I think you can get a good deal now with Aer Lingus into Rome.

I loved Rome. Great food, loads to see, beautiful people etc. A great night club scene also.

www.eurocheapo.com has some good deals, i've used it a few times.

We flew to Ciampino (sp?) with Ryanair. Its acually slightly nearer to Rome than Da Vinci which is where Aer Lingus fly to.
